A closer view of the nose, Shackleton AEW.2 WL790 standing in the restoration compound at the Pima Air & Space Museum just outside Tucson, 5th May 2008.
South Dakota Air & Space Museum just outside Ellsworth AFB, Rapid City, SD. Some interesting artwork, not sure of the significance. It seems this B-29 is an ex China Lake target rescued in the late 80's.

On display outside the gate at Marietta GA NAS Atlanta / Dobbins AFB in May 2004 B-29 44-70113 'Sweet Eloise'. She flew 27 combat missions over Japan, then flew 5 POW relief missions. She racked up 3 confirmed fighter kills and 3 probables.
How did the Danes do this? An airshow static chock full of aircraft from Europe and America but the Danish aircraft stands out; lonesome, olive green, mean, different. She was operated by Esk 729 out of Karup. Drakens are just but a memory now.
Another photo from one of the warmest and sunniest Late Spring Bank Holidays weekends that I can remember, was May 26th 1990 at the Mildenhall Air Fete. This was Hawk T.1A serial XX278 marked as '278' operated by RAF 63 Squadron / 2 TWU.
In the static at the Mildenhall Air Fete in May 1990, this Hawk T.1A was toting a fearsome looking pair of AIM-9L Sidewinders. She was recorded as operated by 79 Squadron, 1 TWU based at RAF Brawdy.
A very welcome visitor to the 1990 Mildenhall Air Fete was this US Army 2nd Military Intelligence Btn SLAR equipped Mohawk. Some not-so-discreet artwork is visible!
Another preserved B-1, this time GB-1A serial 74-0160 which is on display inside the Wings Over the Rockies Museum in Denver CO. This old Reagan era Cold War warrior prototype is almost impossible to photograph in her entirety so a nose shot must suffice.
This CF-104D was assigned to the 1st Canadian Air Group based Söllingen CFB in West Germany and despite her age still looked to be a potent fighter aircraft.
Back to the 1985 IAT at RAF Fairford, this was F-111E serial 68-0037 operated by the 77TFS/20TFW out of RAF Upper Heyford. She was displayed within a guarded and wired compound containing an FB-111A, a B-52G and an SR-71A Blackbird.
Back to the 1985 IAT at RAF Fairford, this was Tornado F.2 serial ZD934 operated by 228 OCU as 'AD'. Now her forward fuselage is believed to be an instructional airframe at RAF Leeming.
The 2004 Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford saw B-1B 86-0198 'Alien With An Attitude' performing a full air display and from start to finish it was most impressive. In this photo 'Alien' lines up to enter the active runway.
Believed to be 'Star of Abilene' shooting touch and go's at Palmdale CA. She was the first B-1B to enter operational sevice with the USAF. A memorable moment!
