In July 2015, the Kaplan family donated Spitfire Ia N3200 to the Imperial War Museum. On the 26th of May, 1940, when the 19 Squadron aircraft crash landed on the beach near Sangatte, France, no individual letter had been applied.
Restoration of Shuttleworth's LF.Vc AR501 is progressing rivet by rivet but will take some time to complete. AR501 is seen here in the restoration hangar on 7th August, 2016.
The Aero Legends' airworthy Spitfire IX TD314 in front of Hangar 3. At the moment their other Spitfire HF.IXe, NH341 (G-CICK) is under rebuild to two-seat Tr.9 by Historic Flying Limited at the motorway end of Duxford.
From the opening of the refurbished Kelvingrove Museum in July 2006 Spitfire F.21 LA198 has been flying in the Life Gallery in her original 602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron colours as flown by the unit from 1947-49 at RAF Abbotsinch (now Glasgow Airport).
