This Canberra PR9 was retired from the RAF when she flew (with two others) into Kemble 31st July 2006. She still wears the light grey ARTF camouflage from her lastoperational deployment when in RAF service.
"Teasin Tina" lifts her nose wheel on what was a very memorable fast taxi run. Great to see this old girl being kept alive and displayed to the public.
A shot of Victor K2 XL231 kept at Elvington. This is just an example of what people will be able to produce from the night shoot being held on 21st March 2009, details of which are on the museum website.
A former XI(F) Sqn Lightning now in the hands of the Lightning Preservation Group at Bruntingthorpe seen in her partially rebuilt Q shed at the LPG night shoot.
Wearing a covering of snow Teasin Tina is seen as the sun sets in the distance. XM715 was originally built as a B2 but later became the ninth Victor to be converted to the K2 tanker role and delivered to RAF Marham where she finished her days with 55 Sqn
Teasin Tina is seen as she stands at Bruntingthorpe forming part of the Cold War Jets collection. She is kept in taxiable condition and can regularly be seen performing taxi runs at open days. Sadly she is one of only two such "live" examples of Victor.
A stunning single burner overshoot by this 3 Sqn jet at RAF Coningsby. This jet is still in F2 standard fit however like others will be upgraded to FGR4 standard shortly.
An unusal vistor to RAF Coningsby was this 78 Sqn Merlin HC3A. This was one of a batch of Merlins destined for the Danish air force but diverted to the RAF, also the first image of this aircraft to Airfighters.
Another first for me is this Typhoon T1 which was the first production T-bird Typhoon for the RAF, seen now serving as BC with 29(R) Sqn at RAF Coningsby.
Captured on approach to RAF Coningsby is the CO of XI(F) Sqn`s jet coded DXI. I was fortunate enough to witness this jets first flight at BAE systems Warton back in June 2007.
Caught on approach to RAF Coningsby on a beautiful crisp winters day. This Typhoon was the first FGR4 for the RAF and is seen here carrying a targeting pod on the centreline pylon.
Captured on a low level training sortie flying through a Cumbrian valley. This Tucano wears the badge of 1 FTS on the tail, 1 FTS is currently based out of RAF Linton-on-Ouse.
