The forward section of Fokker-built former RNethAF 325 Squadron Hunter F.6 N-250 was saved after the aircraft was converted by Hawker Siddeley Aviation to two-seat T.66D. It was delivered to the Indian Air Force on 21 September 1967 as 'S.581'.

Introduced by the RAF in mid-1940, the new 100-octane fuel increased the Spitfire's speed by 25 mph at sea level and by 34 mph at 10,000 feet. The black hole just above the leading edge wing root is the hand cranking point for turning the engine manually.

The I-16 was the first low-wing monoplane with retractable undercarriage in the Sovjet Air Force. In 1936 some 475 I-16s were supplied to Spanish Republican forces. To them the I-16 was known as 'Mosca' (fly), but as 'Rata' (rat) to their opponents.

At the time PS890 left the Southampton production line in the spring of 1945, it was powered by a Griffon 66. Since a major overhaul in the winter of 2008/09 a Rolls Royce Griffon 60 is fitted. F-AZJS is based at Dijon-Darois, France.

G-CCHV is in the markings of the 1ére Escadrille of Groupe de Chasse II/5 "Lafayette" and has the command stripes of Commandant Jacques-Louis Murtin, CO of GC I/5 and GC II/ on its fuselage.

Built as a B-25J-35NC at the NAA Fairfax-plant in Kansas City and delivered to the USAAF in August 1945. In 1947 the aircraft was modified for testing electronics and radar systems for the Air Defense Command.

In the eighties, former USN pilot J.K. "Buck" Ridley competed at the US National Championship Air Races in the Unlimited Class with this ex-Honduras Air Force Corsair (FAH-614). His codeletters 'BR' were reversed to 'RB' when Red Bull took ownership.

Richard Grace checking the Packard-Merlin V1650-7 (similar to the Merlin 66/266) under the black and white chequers, the colours of the 78th FG, based here at Duxford during WWII. 'Contrary Mary' was the personal aircraft of Col. Roy B. Caviness.

In September 2015 a substantial part of the wreck of P3700 was recovered from the crash site at Saddlescombe Farm, near Brighton, where P3700/RF-E crashed on 9th September, 1940. G-HURI is in the markings of Sgt Kazimierz Wünsche's 303 Squadron Hurricane

Based aboard HMS Gurkha, XS567 attended the (first) Duxford Air Show on 14th October, 1973, as '444' of 829 Squadron. The Wasp came to IWM Duxford in September 1992, coded 'E-434' of the HMS Endurance Flight.

On display in Hangar 3 at Duxford is XS576/E-125. The FAW.2 went to sea with 899 Squadron, noted aboard HMS Eagle in 1967 as 'E-126'.

By February 1917, this B.E.2c, built by Ruston, Proctor and Co of Lincoln, served with 50 (Home Defence) Squadron at Swingate Down (Dover). The aircraft came to the IWM in 1919. Serial 2699 is on the undersides of the lower wings only.

Shortly after Flying Legends 2018 WG655 transferred from The Fighter Collection to Shaun Patrick. The Sea Fury was reregistered G-INVN on 25th July 2018.

FE992 entered RCAF service in 1943 as RCAF-20208, flying with the Service Flying Training Schools at RCAF Moncton, New Brunswick, and later at RCAF Weyburn, Saskatchewan. After the war FE992 became Fv16047 with the Swedish Air Force.

G-THUN, flown here by Stuart Goldspink, has been finished in the colours of a 492nd FS P-47D, operating from Station 347 Ibsley at the time of the Normandy invasion. The 48th FG moved to the bridgehead on 18th June to strip A-4 near Deux-Jumeaux.

PT462 has been finished in her authentic wartime c/s. The Spitfire served, as an HF.IXe, with 253 Squadron from several Italian airfields, including Brindisi andTreviso. PT462, converted to a two-seater in the 1980's, is now based at Duxford with ARCo.
