14 July 1947 Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 43-14987 as a UC-61K.
Returned to the USAAF.
This Argus, ex USAAF 43-14601, was registered G-AIZE in December 1946, represents SEAC Argus II FS628, one of 161 delivered to the RAF for operations in the Far East. The original FS628 returned to the US in March 1947.
Built as UC-61A for the USAAC, the a/c was Lend-Leased to Britain serving as HB614 in the RAF. Later registered as G-AJPI. In the early 80s re-engined with a Ranger inline, changing the type into a 24R-46A Argus III. It is now based in the Netherlands.
