Only the second Douglas A4D Skyhawk built and the first production model, the preserved 137813 was on display in the static at the 1989 Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow.

Despite having been replaced by the F/A-18 Hornet two years earlier in 1987, preserved A-4 "Fox" Bu.No 155033 of the Blue Angels still looks as if she is ready to fly in the 1989 Pensacola Airshow.

A "Scooter" in warpaint! When this photo was taken at Pensacola in 1989 TA-4J Bu.No 154672 was operated by VFA-127 "Cylons" as NJ-711. The "Cylons" mission was to provide ACM training for all Pacific Fleet light attack squadrons, hence the unusual scheme.

On display in the static at the 1989 Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow in 1989, TA-4J was operated by Pensacola based VT-86 who wore the very distinctive black fin rudder on their "Scooters".

A must-see sight in the 1989 NAS Point Mugu Air Show static was this immaculate TA-4J Skyhawk. She was operated by VT-24 / TW-3 out of NAS Chase Field in Texas.
