This B-51H was operated by the 20th BS / 7th BW out of Carswell AFB, TX. She remained with the 20th BS with the 2nd BW out of Barksdale AFB, LA, and was retired to AMARC in December 2008.

This B-51H was operated by the 20th BS / 7th BW out of Carswell AFB, TX. She remained with the 20th BS with the 2nd BW out of Barksdale AFB, LA, and was retired to AMARC in December 2008.

Formerly built as a B-25J, this Mitchell was converted to TB-25N standard in 1954. When I saw her at Point Mugu she was well known on the display circuit as 'Heavenly Body' and was clearly an attraction to the public.

Seen at the Point Mugu airshow on 28th October 1989 and a locally based aircraft, this C-130E Hercules was operated by the California ANG 115th TAS / 146th TAW. This Hercules remained in active service until 2010 when she was retired to AMARC,

Photographed at the 1989 Point Mugu airshow, this was a Coast Guard HU-25A Guardian on display in the static. She was operated by CGAS San Diego. Her present disposition is not recorded however she did go into store in AMARG.

This S-3A Viking CAG bird was quite a catch at the 1989 airshow, she was 'NE-700' operated by VS-38 'Red Griffins'. Thirty one years later she slumbers under the Arizona sun in AMARG still marked as 'NE-700' while VS-38 was disbanded on 17th April 2004.

Seen at the Point Mugu Airshow on the 28th October 1989. Interesting, just over a week later she was recorded as "w/o Nov 6, 1989 in Strait of Juan de Fuca, 7 mi from NAS Whidbey Island, WA due to hydraulics failure. Both crew ejected and were rescued.

Photo taken at the Point Mugu Airshow on the 28th October 1989, I was wandering past this hanger and I tried a door which was unlocked and I looked in and... This Orion was marked as PMTC '34'.

This U.S. Navy LC-130F Hercules suffered an accident in the Antarctic in 1971 and remained in the snow for 17 years, her recovery makes for a fascinating story. She is now listed as in store at AMARG at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ.

This Tomcat was constructed as a Grumman F-14A-115-GR however was later converted to the F-14A (Plus) standard, later redesignated F-14B. When photographed at the 1989 NAS Point Mugu airshow she was operated by locally based VX-4. Soc May 2002.

On display in the locally based aircraft static at the 1989 Point Mugu airshow, the only in-service F-86 Sabre that I have ever seen! She was F-86F 553868 as 'PMTC / 39' and what can I say? ❤️ Recorded as now stored at China Lake.

This absolute beauty was QF-4N BuNo 152310 as 'PMTC / 41'. Some interesting artwork on her if you look carefully, also her pilot was "Raydar Thee Pilot" and her Crew Chief "PC Don Harding 'Hard Guy'". Scramble lists her as w/o May 1990.

This NRA-3B Skywarrior was operated by the PMTC as '71' and she was carrying some very interesting stores on her pylons. She was later bailed to Hughes (then Raytheon) as a missile test bed as N876R and so became one of the last Skywarriors flying.

In the static display line at the NAS Point Mugu airshow 28th October 1989, this was F/A-18C Hornet BuNo 163706 as PMTC '64'. Sources state that she is still in service today with VX-23.
