This T-28C Trojan was spied in a Tucson scrapyard (believed Specialized Aircraft Maintenance) in late 1999. She still wore markings for VT-2 / TW-5 as 'E-455' but was also on the civil register as N57FL.
Originally operated by Escuadron de Entrenamiento Aereo is currently on display at Air Force Museum. Thanks to Museo Aeronautico Itinerante for help and support during this visit.
Served the Air Force as 49-1643. Previously registered N9674C and N28RE. Recently restored in the colors of the Air Force Test Pilot School at Edwards Air Force Base in the 1950s.
