TFC's VZ345 arrived on 21 April 2008 and is seen here in Hangar 2. VZ345 carries the markings of the A&AEE, Boscombe Down. The Fury was damaged there in a landing incident on 17 April 1985 and has since been used as spare source for FAAHF's VR930.

TFC's Hawk 75A-1 is wearing the 1939 markings of the 1ére Escadrille of Groupe de Chasse II/5 "Lafayette". Carrying the command stripes on its fuselage, the fighter was the personal aircraft of Commandant Murtin, CO of GC I/5 and GC II/5.

Christian Amara's P-40 is regular visitor at Duxford. This aircraft served in the Pacific with the 7th FS, 49th FG and was assigned to Lt. Robert Warren.

TA805 was originally built as a Spitfire HF.IXe (with Merlin 70) and served with 234 Squadron at RAF Bentwaters in the summer of 1945. The Spitfire was restored by ARCo at Duxford and is now powered by a Merlin 66.

Beyond any doubt, the Horsmen (Jim Beasley, Dan Friedkin and Ed Shipley) were the stars at Flying Legends 2009. Here lead pilot Jim Beasley returns to Duxford's 24-grass runway after a practice sortie in TF-51D Mustang 'Miss Velma'.

This Catalina was originally built for the RCAF (serial 11005) as Canso A. It now represents, and honours, an OA-10A and crew of the 5th ERS, Halesworth, lost over the North Sea off the Frisian Islands in a dramatic rescue operation on 30 March 1945.

In 1989, the wreck of this aircraft was recovered from its crash site near Titovka. The Yak was restored by Flying Fighters in Russia. The first post restoration flight was made on 2 April 2004. The Yak however is powered by an Allison V-1710.

'Schwarze Eins' was an A-4 (Werknummer 7134) of Oberleutnant Horst Hannig, Staffelkapitän of 2./JG 2 when based at Triqueville, France, in May 1943. The aircraft is piloted here by Marc Mathis.

WG655 made several test flights prior to Flying Legends 2009. The beast was restored in the US by Sanders Aeronautics and returned to the air on 24 May 2005.

The other Raider at this year's Flying Legends also sported the colourful marks of VA-176. The Skyraider is operated by Jean-Baptiste Salis at La Ferté Alais in France.

Superbly restored by Personal Plane Services, AR213 returned to the air on November 11th, 2007 by Jonathon Whaley. 57 OTU operated the Spitfire from RAF Hawarden. AR213 is seen here at Flying Legends 2008, the world's premier warbird airshow.
