Lansen 32543 was one of at least 12 J-32Bs converted to J-32E standard for ECM training and operational ECM duties. The J-32Es remained in service until 1999 when they were replaced by the two-seat Sk 37E Viggen.
The 'Tripala', powered by the Hispano-Suiza 12Z-17 engine (seen in front of the aircraft), performed unsatisfactorily and was replaced by the RR Merlin 500-45 in the HA-1112M-1L variant.
Turbulence caused by firing of the HS-404 20mm cannon necessitated the installation of spanwise wing fences. The Oerlikon 8cm air-to-ground rocket was carried in packs of four under each wing of the M-1L.
