More than 900 turboprop engines of the Type AI-20K where built - the one here is maybe already out of active duty with those missing parts. It was used for Il-18, An-10 and also the An-12 series, this An-12PP is an rare seen electronic jammer version.

Flying here near their homebase Vyazma, Pyci/Rus team is from training command (DOSAAF). In 1992 the first of there a/c received the actual colourful livery.

Tha An-12 was the standard medium-range paratroop and cargo transport of Soviet Military Transport Aviation (VTA) from 1959. Replacement with Il-76 began 1974, but a few Cub's are believed still in military service.

Following the collision with her team-mate, 925 Black falls to earth and explodes in a fireball. Her tail fin can be seen bouncing away to the right. This was the moment I realised my luck had held - again! Scanned from a 7x5" colour print.
