Monday 21st September 2009 and a return visit to the Wings Over The Rockies Museum in Denver CO, being the site of the former Lowry AFB. This F-4E became a GF-4E at the Lowry TTC with the 3400th TTW, now she is a museum exhibit.

This Douglas RB-66B Destroyer flew combat missions in Southeast Asia and was delivered to the museum in 1970. I think the 'JN' fin code and red/white check denotes the 39th TEWS which was based at Shaw AFB SC.

'The Beast'! This FB-111A serial 68-0287 was last flown by the 380th BW out of Plattsburgh AFB, NY. She then became a GFB-111A at the Lowry TTC with the 3400th TTW and when this was closed in the early 90's she became a museum exhibit.

Another photo from my 1987 visit to the USA. This T-37B 'Tweet' serial 67-14755 was operated by the 12FTW out of Randolph AFB. She remained at Randolph until she was retired to AMARC in early 2007 where she takes a well deserved rest from duty.

Seen at Edwards AFB on the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center tour, this was F-15A serial 71-0287 as 'HIDEC' which stands for 'Highly Integrated Digital Electronic Control'. February 1987.

In the markings of her last operator, the 182nd TFS / 149th TFG based at Kelly AFB, this F-4C downed two MiG-17s over Vietnam as 'TAMPA 01' on the 20th May 1967 flown by Col. Robin Olds.

This F-4C Phantom was on display outside the U.S. Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB. She was w/o on 11 Dec 1970, while assigned to the 4453rd CCTW when she was burned out during a hot refueling. Now preserved at Newark AFS near Columbus, Ohio.

Taxying out to take off to display over the gloomy Southend sea front in May 2005 this was 'Hotel Charlie' being a Tornado F.3 ZE736 marked as 111 Squadron 'HC', she has since been scrapped. I am pretty sure she was being operated by 56 (R) Squadron.

In the static display at the 1995 Mildenhall Air Fete this Wessex HC.2 was operated by 2 FTS as 'WA', also named 'Aries'. When she was retired from Shawbury she was supplied to the Uruguay Navy.
