The B-36 is the largest bomber and the last piston engine powered bomber produced by the United States. A total of 383 Peacemakers were built between 1947 and 1954!

The U.S. Navy introduced the T-28 in 1953, more than three years after it entered service with the U.S. Air Force. The Navy's version of the aircraft, the T-28B, differed from the Air Force version primarily in having a larger engine and a 3 blade prop!

!The Orion has served as the primary long-range patrol and anti-submarine aircraft for the U.S. Navy, as well as for nearly 20 other countries. The VP-3A designation indicates that the aircraft has been modified for use as a VIP transport!

A Panther scored the Navy's first jet-to-jet kill on November 9, 1950 shooting down a North Korean MiG-15. F9F pilots downed a total of five MiGs during the war with no Panthers lost to enemy fighters!

The appearance of the Soviet MiG-15 over Korea spurred on the process and the prototype made its first flight in September 1951. Eventually nearly 2,000 were built and they remained in service until 1974.!

The Buckeye was designed in 1956 in response to a Navy requirement for a multi-purpose jet trainer. The vast majority of Buckeyes have been retired from Navy service, however a few remain in use as of 2011 particularly with the Naval Test Pilot School!

The B-57 is one of only two major combat aircraft of foreign design adopted for use by the US military since the end of World War II. The first British built Canberra arrived in the US in 1951 and US built aircraft began flying 2 years later!
