After testing the Meteor F.3, the Royal Navy had thoughts about operating the F.4 as a ship-board fighter. To this end EE531 which was originally used for gunnery trials, transferred to Heston Aircraft in August 1946 for wing-folding experiments.
Gloster Meteor F.4 preserved at Santa Romana Museum, Villa Mercedes, San Luis. The Gloster Meteor F.4 plane has been the first jet plane inside the Argentine Air Force.
With the Gloster Meteor, the Royal Netherlands Air Force entered the jet-age. The RNlAF ordered 61 Meteor F.Mk4 aircraft, which were in service from 1948 till 1957.
