Last Mirage III´s were withdrawn from duty in Swiss air force already in 2003, but now is again possible see one old beauty in action at Payerne AFB as private jet.

Meiringen in Winter - not easy to take pictures of aircrafts. No sun on them 'cause the mountains blocks it. But very nice activity and marvellous background.

Zielfliegerkorps 5 just flew briefly with the PC-9. After a year or so Z Fl St 12 came into being. This PC09 has the ZFK 5 badge on the nose.

In 1991 the Hawk entered Swiss service in full swing. A couple of Hawks were flying from Sion for low level attack training.

During 1989 we made our first trip into Switzerland. We saw lots of aircraft that were hardly seen in Europe. The Hunters were among these.

Unit badges used to be quite rare in the Swiss AF. This Hunter has the Fl St 2 badge on the nose. This Hunter was scrapped a year later.

"Twoseater" Hornet is take off into training sortie. Note the pod behind air intake - is it probably new targeting pod AN/ASQ-228 ATFLIR.This F/A-18D is in Payerne probably shared FlSt 17 "Falcons" and FlSt 18 "Panthers."
