When the Yugoslav civil war broke out, the Serbians left Brnik air base, but left behind this F-86D. In 1998 it was still in place, although nature tried hard to get hold of this storage area.

For the Celje air show this Dutch F-16 arrived at Ljubljana. As it was based in Italy for the Balkan crisis it was to flown back at any notice. So the demo was flown with fuel tanks fitted.

During the Yugoslav civil war the Serbs had to draw back from Ljubljana. They left behind a couple of decoy. This Sabre was one of these.
