nice to see the YS-11 still around. Newer Falcon jets of the Coast Guard are already based at Naha and will obviously replace them some day in the future.

as you can guess from the clouds in the background these were the last rays of sunlight that day. It was also the last airshow at Naha with the famous 302 Hikotai Phantoms still being based there.

Pictured just touching down on rw18. AHA is relatively quiet early in the morning (until the scheduled airline stuff starts to arrive from the mainland) and so this time presents the perfect opportunity to bash out some circuits.

Farewell scheme before 302 Sqn. and their Phantoms are leaving Naha. They will go to Hyakuri and be replaced by the 304 Sqn. flying the F-15.
