I could not resist this close-up photo of the classic F-8 Crusader shark mouth air intake! On display on the ramp at the 1989 Pensacola Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow, she was destined for public display in the NMNA.
Photographed late in the day in February 1987 at Ellington ANGB, Houston Tx, this RF-8G of Reserve unit VFP-206 flew over, landed then taxied to a halt in front of us, a memorable moment. She was marked as AF-702 and might have been Bu.No 146882.
Formerly operated by VFP-63 and wearing some commemorative markings this RF-8G entered AMARC in May 1982 and is still listed as currently stored by some sources.
