Stopping over at Reykjavík on the way to the USA. Was at one time the personal transport of Spanish general Francisco Franco. It was the last flyable CASA-2111 and was destroyed in a fatal crash near the Cheyenne, Wyoming airport on July 10, 2003.

Landed at Reykjavík on the way to Canada after serving in the Royal Danish Airforce as N-706. Has carried the following registrations: 42-72706, N-706, N4988T, C-GRYZ, C9-ATF and finally two years ago it went to Phoebus Apollo Aviation as ZS-PAJ

Royal Danish Air Force Catalina photographed at Reykjavík shortly before it force landed at sea close to Upernavik, Greenland on May 3, 1964. It was later crushed by the ice.

Delivered to the French AF As No. 85, passed to Gabon AF aroung 1968. Recovered in Gabon by Gyra Frane 1976. Registered as N91945 with Summerfield Aviation of Jefferson, CO. Passed through Reykjavík in April 1977 with several others.
Starting engines. Note the reflection in the puddle. A number of photographers were present, but they did not take notice of the reflection. Interesting to see two DC-4s in by the Lofteidir Hotel, where DC-4 and DC-6 operations took place in the 50s/60s
A VP-18 Neptune Photographed at the 1963 Reykjavík Airshow. Not very many color photos of Neptunes in the so called Seaplane Grey scheme are available. This was my first decent aircraft photo. Taken on a 6x9 cm color negative film.
