Aliansa's HK-5016 is the only "Turbo Dakota" converted DC-3 flying in Villavicencio. It was manufactured in 1944 as a C-47A-DK for the French Air Force and previously also saw service with the South African AF.
VH-XUX passed through Singapore on its flight to its final destination at the Flying Tigers Guilin Heritage Park & Museum in Guilin, China.
Markings are of USAAF C-47A "Buzz Buggy" (42-100558), which was transferred to FAU in 1950.
The eerie remains of Tp.79 (DC-3) 79001 of the Swedish Air Force which was shot down by a Soviet MiG-15 on 13 June 1952 during an elint over the Baltic with the loss of the 8-man crew. The wreckage was recovered in 2004.
