This F-15A (74-0109) on display at the Technik Museum Speyer, was obtained from a F-15 squadron at Bitburg, where it had been flying until the squadron was disbanded in 1993. In the background is a McDonnell F-101B Voodoo (58-0265).
While photographing the F-15Cs from the 1 FW, that were going to be part of the 57th FIS, I got a chance to photograph these F-15As from the 48th FIS of the local ANG unit.
F-15A 77-115 of the 101. FS. 102. FW. of the Massachussets ANG based at Otis AFB landing on runway 20 with a heavy rainshower in the background in May 1996. It had just been repainted and has no identifying markings except for the "Cape Cod" on the tanks.
Having just finished taking on fuel, this F-15A from the Massachussets ANG, breaks away after refuelling. It is without any unit markings at this time, having just come out of the paint shed.
A thunderstorm is brewing in the background with the sun still shining on the airfield. Taken when visiting the 1st FW at Langley to view and photograph the F-15Cs that were due to join the 57th FIS at Keflavik later that year.
One of the first F-15A Eagles I ever saw! While on a day-trip in the Netherlands during the late seventies, I made a quick -unplanned - stop at Soesterberg while passing by and there was lots of aviation activity ;-)! Scanned from slide.
