A visit to the Gatwick Aviation Museum at Vallance Byways, Charlwood, Surrey, UK in August 2003 found the nose of Victor K.2 'Saucy Sal' in very poor condition. She had been scrapped and the museum owner had stepped in to save her. Now at Bournemouth.

I spotted this former USCG HC-130B Hercules 1454 last operated out of Sacramento, CA, and retired in June 1984. She was transferred to the Air Force in March 1985. Her fuselage left for the 542nd CTW at Kirtland AFB, NM, for use as a load trainer.

This was a CH-47A Chinook last operated by the 1105th TptCo / Iowa ARNG, she entered store November 1975. She left AMARC in April 1992 for conversion to CH-47D (92-0296).

This SP-2H Neptune arrived at AMARC in 1974/75 and is still on display here 35 years later. Her 'PJ' code indicates that she was operated by VP-69, a Reserve unit out of Whidbey Island NAS, WA.

This was a Lockheed C-130D Hercules last operated by the 139th TAS / 109th TAG NY ANG out of Schenectady Airport, NY. She was retired in February 1985 having been replaced by the C/LC-130H and has since been scrapped by HVF West.

This was a Grumman A-6E Intruder as 'KC-09' last operated by VMAT(AW)-202 out of of Cherry Point MCAS, NC. In June 1996 she was consigned to a watery fate as an artificial reef at the Ponce de Leon Inlet, FL.

Formerly operated by VMA-542 "Flying Tigers" this AV-8C was retired to AMARC in April 1986. She was subsequently put on display on AMARC's 'Celebrity Row' and remained there for some years until disposed of to Falcon Range, Fort Sill, OK in 2004.

It was Valentines Day 1987 on the MASDC Photographer's Tour and I considered this Lockheed T-1A Seastar a real catch! She arrived MASDC in April 1970. Quite incredibly, over 50 years after her arrival, she is still seen by visitors on the Display Row.

Back to Valentines Day 1987 and another 7th Bomb Wing B-52D, serial 56-0596 pcn BC285 which arrived in store May 1982 and was "eliminated" October 1993. Sadly I underexposed the photo so just a bit of grain on this one.
