The McDonnell Douglas F-4G is a modified version of the F-4E, tailored to the suppression of enemy air-defense (SEAD) role. The biggest change to the E_Model F-4 was the installation of the APR-38 'RHAW' mission electronics package. The RHAW's senors completely occupy the redesigned nose, forsaking the M61A1 Gatling gun. The back-seater's cockpit is missionized with dedicated controls. The centerline pylon is strengthed to accept the 600l drop-tank from the F-15.

The outer-wing pylons, which normally carry drop-tanks, have been rewired to carry the AGM-88 High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM). The standard fit of USAF Mk.82/84 bombs along with CBU munitions. The F-4G flew in the 1991 Gulf War with one loss due to enemy fire. F-4G's from the 190th Squadron, Idaho ANG were the last Phantoms to fly in USAF service. The F-4G modification was never exported outside of the U.S.
