A week before the official dedication of the Vietnam War Memorial, and the finishing touches have been added. The statue has been placed, the flags are flying, and the landscaping has been planted.
Showing off its new paint job, the MoF's B-52 sits in the sun outside Historic Flight Foundation's hanger. The B-52 will soon be trucked down (in pieces) to Boeing Field, where it will be the centerpiece of a Vietnam Memorial.
What very well could be the end of the line for this BUFF. The B-52G is on permanent loan to the Museum of Flight in Seattle from the USAF Museum but awaits funding and volunteer hours for a full restoration which may never come.
