This was the last production Meteor F.8 built and after extensive modifications was used by The Institute of Aviation Medicine to monitor the effects of g-forces on prone pilots. Tests were inconclusive and special clothing was a simpler solution.
This aircraft first flew in Sept.1945. It was flown to Henlow for storage in April 1963 and moved to Cosford by road in 1968. It is now in The Royal Air Force Museum there.
