The Beech Model 18 is one of the most successful designs to come out of the 1930s. The American military recognized the utility of the design and adopted it for use in various models as a transport and as a trainer!

Initially planned as an interim design the Tracer was the Navy's primary carrier based airborne radar aircraft until the mid-1970s. The last of the 88 Tracers built left Navy service in November 1977!

The C-54 is best known for its participation in the Berlin Airlift. In the largest humanitarian airlift ever the United States, Britain and France delivered over 2.3 million tons of cargo, the vast majority in C-54s, between 1948 and 1949!

The Vigilante the largest aircraft aboard any U.S. Navy's aircraft carrier. It was designed as a supersonic nuclear attack bomber. A change in policy eliminated the Navy's strategic nuclear bombing role and the Vigilante's mission was changed to recon!

In 1960, the U.S. Navy purchased 20 Aztecs for use as short-range transports designated as UO-1. They were also used to allow Navy pilots who had been assigned non-flying duties to maintain their skills and flight pay!

Based on the Boeing B-377 Stratocruiser the Super Guppy was built to carry huge rocket and aircraft parts. A total of 56 were built, this one was delivered in 1967, retired in 1990 and could carry a load of 20 tons!
