The Lynx is in service with The Royal Netherlands Navy since 1978. They were delivered in 3 batches: 6 SH-14A, 10 SH-14B and 8 SH-14C. Since 1993 they're all converted to the standard SH-14D. In 2013 they will be gone and replaced by the new NH90.

The Dutch SAR helicopter are called "Tweety" by the locals. I haven't got a clue why... On the tailboom you can see the Frisian flag. Leeuwarden, the homebase of these helicopters, is the capitol of the Dutch provence Friesland.
