Visting the 57th in May of 1978. The serial of this Phantom in not quite certain, but XV408 did belong to 29th sqn. with the code P a bit later. Here it is doing a low flyby of runway 20 just before landing after a mission with the 57th FIS F-4Es.

Having just finished taking on fuel, this F-15A from the Massachussets ANG, breaks away after refuelling. It is without any unit markings at this time, having just come out of the paint shed.

This is BuNo 146860, which was the the last operational US forces Crusader. It was retired to the Smithsonian on March 30, 1987 and is on display at the Udvar-Hazy museum at Dulles Airport. Here it had some problems and dropped in at Selfridge.

This VP-46 Orion is a long way from its home base at Moffett Field. It was quite a surprise to get some of the west coast P-3 units to deploy to Keflavik in 1980-82. Here shooting landings which was normal crew training.

Two of the six Typhoons from the Italian Air force that are currently in Iceland for the NATO Airspace patrols, visited the air show at Akureyri last weekend, and simply stole the show by two low passes and a touch and go and an afterburner departure.
The Coast Guard did a very impressive showing during the 2013 Akureyri airshow, and many of the spectators had never seen a fast reverse by a helicopter and were impressed.
