P-51D 45-11518 (ex RNZAF, serial NZ2427) is finished as 44-14419, 350 FS, 353 FG at Raydon, Essex. The Mustang is part of Maurice Hammond’s Hardwick Warbird Collection, seen here during the Heart FM Air Display. Janie’s pilot for the day was Dave Evans.

After release from the Italian Ministry of Defence in 1972, the G-46 came to the UK in September 1973. Operated and maintained by Personal Plane Services at Booker, the trainer is in the colours of the 4th Stormo.

Former Royal Saudi Air Force Strikemaster Mk.80, serial 1125, is now privately owned in the UK. Seen here flown by owner Tom Maloney, it represents a Strikemaster of the Kuwaiti Air Arm, which had 12 Mk.83s on strength.

Brian Smith of OFMC about to touch the grass at Rougham. Built as a Spitfire LF.IXc with Merlin 66, the Spit first served with 222 (Natal) Squadron as 'ZD-B'. After the war the aircraft saw service with the RNethAF's 322 Squadron.

Jeanne Frazer in her Cub at Rougham. The aircraft is in the markings of the 456th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion of the 82nd Airborne Division. 'G' was one of the first 2 Cubs to be deployed in Normandy over the American beach head at D-Day+2.

The L-5 came to the UK a couple of years ago and was restored to airworthy condition by Blackbarn Aviation at Priory Farm near Tibenham. The Sentinel returned to the air on the 17th January 2007 and is seen here landing at Rougham aerodrome.

Although retaining its RSAF camo, this former Royal Saudi Air Force Strikemaster Mk.80A(serial 1125) now wears the markings of the Kuwait Air Force. The jet is operated from Shoreham and is flown here by Tom Maloney.

Peter Teichman about to return to North Weald after an impressive display in his new Hurricane. It represents Hurribomber BE505 of 174 Squadron, lost on 19th August 1942, during Operation Jubilee. F/Sgt Watson was shot down into Dieppe harbour.

Alister Kay lands at Rougham after his impressive display. Back in 1944, "Frankie" was flown by Major Wallace Hopkins, 374FS, 361FG from Little Walden in Essex. True ident of this Mustang is 44-73149.

Sir Cliff Spink in the Golden Apple Sabre at the Heart Air Display at Rougham. The aircraft is in the distinctive markings of the 4th Fighter Wing as worn during the Korean conflict. The Sabre is operated from Duxford in association with the ARCo.

After more than 18 months of engine troubles, the latest being a failure of the crankshaft bearing on no1 engine on 21st June, Sally B took to the skies again on 15th August for a test flight. She is seen here in full glory over former USAAF base Rougham.
