This aircraft had served with No.118 Squadron, RAF, serialled WA306, before transferring to the RNZAF as NZ5769. The aircraft is in No.75 Squadron colours. In the background is Vampire T.11 NZ5707.

Imported in 1938 by the Hawkes Bay and East Aero Club, in May 1940, the 35W was impressed into RNZAF-service as NZ581. After a brief spell in civilian hands as ZK-AHJ, she was re-impressed as NZ598, serving with No.42 Squadron. Post war she became ZK-APJ.

Seen here in the new display hangar of the Ashburton Aviation Museum is Vampire T.11 NZ5707 in the markings of 14 Squadron, RNZAF. The T.11 is ex RAF XH265 and was delivered to the RNZAF in 1955.

B.2 WH734 was delivered to Flight Refuelling Ltd. at Tarrant Rushton in 1953 and later served with the RAE at Llanbedr as a B.2/TT18. After scrapping in 2004 the cockpit section came to New Zealand a year later and is seen here in the new display hall.

After operational service, NZ1804 served as INST214 with 1 TTS at Hobsonville near Auckland. Later the Devon went to the Wanaka Transport Museum. The Devon is seen here in a rather sorry state at Ashburton aerodrome.

A77-867 saw action over Korea, when based at Kimpo with 77 Squadron, 91 Wing, RAAF. In more recent years, A77-867 was part of the Classic Jets Fighter Museum at Parafield (South Australia) before coming to the Ashburton Aviation Museum in 2010.

867 under restoration in the Ashburton Aviation Museum workshop. The F.8 is in the markings of 77 Squadron, RAAF. The Meteor served with this unit at Kimpo air base during the Korean War.

Falklands War veteran XZ129 served with 1 Squadron onboard HMS Hermes. After return to the UK she became instructional airframe A2602 with ETS at Yeovilton. XZ129 is now the only (complete) RAF Harrier on display in the Southern Hemisphere.
