VA-164 "Ghostriders" squadron. Named after longtime supporter of the squadron with all CO's planes taking the name. The first plane with the name "Ladie Jesse" was flown by Lcdr Dick Perry who was shot down and killed in Vietnam.
With Colorado ANG. Nov/Dec 1986 deployed to Araxos AB Greece during "Coronet Pluto". With 120 FS, Colorado Air Guard. Jan 1992, to AMARC as AE0105. Scrapped Aug 1997.
VA-165 CAG-bird and 161090, a former VA-115 jet, launching for a demo at the NAS Whidbey airshow. Intruders rarely got close enough during their displays for photos; this was shot with a long-for-its-day 400 f/5.6 lens.
VA-128's disestablishment special taxiing back to its parking spot after a miles-from-the-crowd airshow display. The pilot didn't pay attention to the marshaller, so this was the clearest shot before the plane disappeared behind a row of other jets. :(
VA-128's disestablishment special, waiting to launch during NAS Whidbey's 1995 airshow. Naturally, all the Plane Captains are crowded around the good-looking jet, not the line birds. :(
