An incredibly rare machine, 55-0668 is a TB-58A trainer and the ninth Hustler built. I photographed her at the Southwest Aerospace Museum at Carswell AFB in 1987 and she now resides at the Lone Star Museum at Galveston TX.
In February 1987 the Southwest Aerospace Museum was located at the edge of Carswell AFB and contained a number of very interesting exhibits. This F-86L Sabre was one of the aircraft on display there. This museum later closed.
Operated by the 457th TFS, an AFRES unit based at Carswell AFB, this F-4D was photographed on the live ramp at Carswell in early 1987. She was retired to AMARC and is now listed as 'SOC' - struck off charge, most probably scrapped.

Photographed late in the day in February 1987 at Ellington ANGB, Houston Tx, this RF-8G of Reserve unit VFP-206 flew over, landed then taxied to a halt in front of us, a memorable moment. She was marked as AF-702 and might have been Bu.No 146882.
This was the last of SAC's "Big Sticks" to be built. When photographed in February 1987 she was on display in the Southwest Aerospace Museum adjacent to Carswell AFB. Sadly the awesome sound of "six turning and four burning" will never be heard again.
This Spitfire has quite a history. Built in 1945 as a single-seat Mk.9e, converted to a two-seater in 1946 and flew with the Irish Air Corps. Appeared in the Battle of Britain movie and was re-converted to a single seater in the '70s.
Two Edwards AFB F-16B's, 92-0455/ED and 92-0456/ED, just landed at NAS Fort Worth. These planes are to support the first flight of the F-35A Lightning II prototype.
