This Avenger was built in early 1945 as a TBM-3E and configured in the anti-submarine role. After her military career ended in 1958, the plane was an aerial applicator spraying insecticides. In 1971 the plane was acquired by the CAF.
Of aprox. 7200 Helldivers being built, this is the only remaining airworthy example worldwide. It served with the US Navy from 1945-1948. The plane was badly damaged due to an engine failure, but was repaired again to airworthy conditions.
