When she arrived at Castle AFB in 1980 F-101B Voodoo 57-0412 had last served with the 123rd FIS Oregon ANG. When I saw her in 2022 she had been repainted in the more familiar 111th FIS Texas ANG colours.

This was an Avro Canada CF-100 Mk.5 Canuck 100504 last operated by 414 (EW) Squadron and flown to Atwater in 1982.

The Northrop YA-9A was the loser in the A-X Attack Fighter competition 1966-1973, the Fairchild A-10 being the winner. She went on display at Castle in 1984 however in 1996 was loaned to Edwards AFB and is still there today

Back in 1993 this RB-36H Peacemaker was being reassembled at the Castle Air Museum, having been transported from Chanute AFB, Illinois, the year prior. The nose art depicts Alley Oop, riding a dinosaur. He was a comic character in the papers c. 1930's.

This RB-36H was originally on display at Chanute AFB, Illinois, but on closure of that base was disassembled and moved to Castle around 1992. This is one of the two pods containing a pair of J-47 jet engines, note the metal petals used for when shut down.
