The Northrop N-9M was a one-third scale aircraft used for the development of the Northrop XB-35 and YB-35 Flying Wing long-range bomber program. When the B-35 program was canceled, every N-9M test model was scrapped except the last, this one, N-9MB.
What a treat it was to see this SB-Lim2A(Polish built MiG-15UTi) in action at Edwards AFB. It is loaned to the USAF for training and in return the pilot gets to keep it there for free!
The base museum Blackbird temporarily displayed on active ramp has a new hard wearing gloss paint finish. Although some purists may not like this I think it looks stunning and should save the curator repainting her every two years!
