N6161 of 9 Squadron, RNAS, was captured intact by German Forces on 1st February, 1917, after it was forced to land. Later it was flown in German markings at Neumünster. Some of the original parts were used in the rebuild by the HAC's Retrotec company.

The Aero Legends' airworthy Spitfire IX TD314 in front of Hangar 3. At the moment their other Spitfire HF.IXe, NH341 (G-CICK) is under rebuild to two-seat Tr.9 by Historic Flying Limited at the motorway end of Duxford.

Long term Duxford resident ex-Portugese Air Force Toucan 6313 is now on display at the Polish Aviation Museum, Kraków. Seen here at Duxford as Luftwaffe Ju 52 ‘4V+GH’, the markings of 1./KGrzbV 9, operating in the Demyansk Pocket, Russia, in April 1942.

F/L Phil Bird of 208 Squadron was the RAF's Hawk Solo Display pilot for the 2012 season. Note the RAF Valley Station crest on the fin. XX278 later changed colours, performing with the Red Arrows.

Spitfire HF.VIIIc MV154 represents MT928, the aircraft flown by S/L McKay of 145 Squadron, Italy, 1945. MV154 transferred to the RAAF as A58-671 in 1944. MV154 returned to the UK in 1979 and made her first post-restoration flight as G-BKMI on 28 May 1994.

TFC's Beaufighter project is progressing, although a return to the skies will take some time. The aircraft takes up the identity of Mk.XIc A19-144 (ex RAF JM135), but includes parts from other RAAF machines, A8-324, A19-148 (ex RAF JL946) and A19-36.

Max Alpha Aviation's Mustang was delivered to the Royal Canadian Air Force as 'RCAF-9245' in December 1950. In the early 1990s she was converted to TF-51D by Pioneer Aero Service at Chino. Flown here at Flying Legends 2015 by Marc Mathis.

Under the direction of Max Vogelsang, the forward fuselage of J-84, the wings of J-276 and other sections of J-143 were combined during a six-year restoration at Vogelsang's workshop at Wohlen. The D-3801 made her first flight from Buochs on 9 June 2000.

Over the last few years PV202 has had a number of markings applied, including those of 'W3632', a Spitfire presented to the RAF by the Persian Gulf Fighter Fund in 1941. LF.IX PV202 was with 33 Squadron coded '5R-H' from October until December 1944.

No.72 Squadron was the first Fighter Command unit to receive the Gladiator shortly after having been reformed at Tangmere in 1937. Gladiator II N5903 went into service with 141 Squadron at Grangemouth in October 1939. N5903 is flown here by Nick Grey.

38-210 in the markings of the 27th PS, 1st PG. The yellow band denoting the aircraft of Capt Robert S. Israel. In an experiment, all 27 PS aircraft were camouflaged in September 1939 in a series of colours and patterns, with no two aircraft being alike.

D-FWME 'Rote 7' is currently the only airworthy Daimler Benz powered Bf 109 in Europe. The aircraft has a DB 605A under the cowling, whereas the Buchóns are powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin 500.

Klaus Plasa in 'Rote 7' on finals to RWY-24 Grass after completing a practice display with the 2 Duxford-based Buchóns flown by Cliff Spink and Lee Proudfoot. D-FWME is also based on Spanish Buchón C.4K-75, c/n 139, rebuilt to Bf 109G-4 standard.

XH648 was flown to Duxford on 2 June, 1976, only days before some 2000 feet of runway were cut off the eastern end to make way for the new M11 motorway. XH648 was one of 6 B.1A's converted to two-point B(K).1A tankers in 1965.

With the refurbishment of the AAM in full progress "Hawg Wild" is parked temporarily on the jet pan. On 16 February 1980, the B-29 left Tucson via Flint Apt., Loring AFB, Gander, Sondrestrom, Keflavík and Mildenhall to arrive at Duxford on 2 March 1980.

Duxford's B-29 was built at Boeing's Renton plant as B-29A-45NT and served with the 307th BW as "It's Hawg Wild" during the Korean War from Kadena AFB, Okinawa. She ended up in open storage at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, California in 1956.

For years MJ271 was on display in the Netherlands at the Schiphol Aviodome and later in the Aviodrome at Lelystad Apt. MJ271 represents MH424/H-53 as operated by 322 Squadron in this 'Jungle Green' camouflage scheme out of Semarang, Indonesia in 1948/49.

Well respected New Zealand warbird pilot Keith Skilling over the hedge to land the TFC Corsair on Duxford's grass runway. The FG-1D (BueAerNo. 88297) represents Corsair IV KD345 in service with 1850 Squadron aboard of HMS Vengeance in December 1945.

38-210 was delivered to Selfridge Field, Michigan, in May 1939 for service with the 1st Pursuit Group. The aircraft was assigned to the 27th Pursuit Squadron. The 'Fighting Eagles' now operate the F-22 Raptor out of Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia.
