NZ6206, of 75 Squadron at Ohakea, is the only RNZAF Skyhawk to have fired a shot in anger when in 1976, it shot over the bow of an illegally fishing Taiwanese trawler plundering the West Coast's squid populations. NZ6206 is on loan from the RNZAF Museum.

The Air Force Museum of New Zealand commemorates the sacrifices of RNZAF Avenger crews with 'NZ2521' (actually TBF-1 NZ2504). TBF-1C NZ2521 and her crew were lost on 31st May, 1944, during a mission to Japanese-held Talili Bay, Rabaul.

Former 41 Squadron, RNZAF, Freighter NZ5911 has been acquired for the new Aerospace Bristol Museum at Filton and is due to be ferried from New Zealand to the UK later in 2017. The partly dismantled Freighter is seen here on a fine winter day in 2014.

The RNZAF received its first two Devons (built as civil Doves) in June and December 1948 for VIP duties with the General Purpose Flight and 42 Squadron at Ohakea. RNZAF Devon remained in service until 1977. NZ1802 became ZK-UFO in October 1977.

In 2013, nine former RNZAF MB-339s saw their way to Florida for defence contractor Draken International Inc at Lakeland-Linder Apt. Other 14 Squadron machines are on display at various locations in New Zealand, as is NZ6469 at Classic Flyers NZ, Tauranga.

NZ1813, a Dove C.1 modified for aerial photography, served with 42 Squadron at RNZAF Ohakea as a communications aircraft before being relegated to GIA as 'INST216' with 4 TTS at RNZAF Base Woodbourne near Blenheim. She came to the MOTAT in September 2010.

Sunderland MR.5 NZ4115 under her temporary cover at the MOTAT Meola Road complex. She is to be restored in her 5 Squadron, RNZAF, colours. NZ4115 served with this unit with codes 'KN-A', 'KN-B' and 'KN-Q' from Laucala Bay, Fiji, from 1953 until 1965.

NZ944 arrived in New Zealand in May 1941 and served with Nos. 1 and 2 SFTS at Wigram and Woodbourne respectively as well as with 1FTS at Wigram. The Harvard was presented to the MOTAT in May 1962 and is now in her wartime yellow overall c/s.

The original Beaver NZ6001 was one of two aircraft serving on the ice from 1956 with the Trans-Antarctic Expedition and was lost in white-out conditions on the Beardmore Glacier on 15 January 1960. The 2 crew were rescued 5 days later by Auster NZ1707.

NZ203 is the sole survivor of the Avro Prefect, of which 4 aircraft were delivered to the RNZAF's 1 SFTS. From July 1985 NZ203 flew for some years as part of the RNZAF Historic Flight until troubles with the AS Cheetah V engine grounded this unique type.

A number of current NZ Warbirds Association members flew '09' on 75 and 2 Squadron at RNZAF Base Ohakea. Last of her 6511 landings, of which 28 were arrestor wire landings, was on 17 December 2001 at Woodbourne. NZ6209 came to Ardmore on 7 March, 2012.
