Canadair CT-133 Silver Star (civil reg. G-TBRD), at the holding point, close to RWY29 during the arrival day at Koksijde Air Show 2005. Sadly, this beautiful T-Bird crashed during take-off from Duxford on September 6th, 2006 (crew escaped).
This Spit was delivered to the RNlAF as H-105. It entered service on 19 February 1947 and served until 1953. It crash-landed on Java on 7 May 1949 but was repaired. Later delivered to the Belgian AF as SM-41. (scan from print)
Although painted as ‘44-63221’, this is actually the ‘44-73149’. It was delivered to the RCAF and entered service on 7 June 1947. It was struck off charge on 20 September 1960. (scan from print)
A beautifully restored FG-1D Corsair (BuNo 88391), on static display at the 1999 Beauvechain airshow. It was delivered to the RNZAF and served between August 17, 1945 and May 9, 1949. (scan from print)
This P-40E (USAAF serial 41-25158) was delivered to the RAF as ET482. In April 1942 it went to the RNZAF as NZ3009, and served with 14th squadron till wars end. In 1994 restoration to airworthy conditions began, which took 3 years. (scan from print)
Brian Smith of OFMC about to touch the grass at Rougham. Built as a Spitfire LF.IXc with Merlin 66, the Spit first served with 222 (Natal) Squadron as 'ZD-B'. After the war the aircraft saw service with the RNethAF's 322 Squadron.
Alister Kay lands at Rougham after his impressive display. Back in 1944, "Frankie" was flown by Major Wallace Hopkins, 374FS, 361FG from Little Walden in Essex. True ident of this Mustang is 44-73149.
