MiG-23BN 689 was part of the 1. Staffel of JBG-37 at Preschen from July 1979. The wings are seen here in take-off/landing position (16° sweep). The other two positions were 45° and 72° sweep for high-speed flight.

This Polish licence-built Lim-5 (MiG-17F) entered service with FliegerGeschwader 7 (later renamed JagdfliegerGeschwader 7) at Drewitz in February 1959. After modifications in 1973, '537' transferred to JBG-31/37.

Two Staffeln of JG-3 at Preschen operated the twin RD-9B engined MiG-19PM. This aircraft was built at No. 21 Plant (Gorki) and operated from 1959 until May 1969 with JG-3. After a spell at Bautzen, '335' came to Rothenburg, a former Sovjet Air Force base.

'784' was delivered to JG-9 at Peenemünde in July 1975 before serving with the Preschen based JG-3. Last flight of this MiG-21MF was on the 19th December 1990, the delivery flight to the Rothenburg Air Museum, after only 1049 flying hours.

Cockpit of MiG-21MF '653'. The aircraft entered NVA-LSK service with JG-3 at Preschen in April 1972 and was retired on 18th April 1977 after a mere 359 flying hours. '653' came to Cottbus in 1993.
