Entering service with No.202 Advanced Flying School, XD425 later served with 7 Flying Training School (FTS), 5 FTS and 8 FTS and was withdrawn from use in November 1967.
WZ590 started her RAF career in 1953 and later saw service with 8 FTS at Swinderby (coded '19') and at RAF Oakington with 5 FTS, coded '49' as seen here.
Seen here in the new display hangar of the Ashburton Aviation Museum is Vampire T.11 NZ5707 in the markings of 14 Squadron, RNZAF. The T.11 is ex RAF XH265 and was delivered to the RNZAF in 1955.
