This RE.8 reproduction was built by The Vintage Aviator Ltd (TVAL) of Wellington and represents ‘D’ of No.3 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps, as flown by Captain R.G. Francis from Poulainville near Amiens, France, in April 1918.
A3930 is the second R.E.8 built by TVAL in Wellington, New Zealand. The 'Harry Tate' is finished in the colours of IX Squadron, RFC, as flown in the winter of 1917. The aircraft will join the collection of the RAF Museum, Hendon.
