The Tin Triangle was the star of the show at the 2009 Lake Windermere Airshow, a stunning sight from the hill side and probably the photo opportunity of the year for 2009 at UK Airshows

Great to finally see this Lady flying again in person after so long. I can't believe that every time she took to the sky over the weekend at RIAT 2009 the sun went in. This quite literally is the only shot I managed to get with her lit with a little sun!
A sad sight, the Vulcan at Woodford is looking very much worse for wear and neglect after being deemed unsafe to work on a few years ago, sadly the scrapman's axe cannot be far away for this Cold War Icon
Unique formation at the 2009 Volkel airshow. RAF Vulcan (XH558) is leading the formation, followed by the Dutch AF Hawker Hunter F.6 (N-294) and Dutch AF F-16AM (J-015).
After years of restoration, this Vulcan is airworthy again. For the first time at an airshow outside the UK, here at the 2009 Volkel airshow. What an impressive piece of engineering!
From understudy to star performer of the first 'Black Buck' mission during the Falklands Conflict in 1982, her story is told in great detail in the book 'Vulcan 607' written by Rowland White - well worth a read.
Absolutely unique formation shown at Volkel open day 2009. Vulcan, dutch demo F16 (J-015) and Hunter (N-294) on same picture. Thanks to dutch airforce for this great event! (Canon EOS 30D / EF 100-400)
