After withdrawl from service most Vampires were flown to Sion for storage. When we paid a visit to the base there were 53 Vampires on the base. Most were still airworthy and many are still flying in the warbird circuit today.

In 1990 many Swiss Vampires were stored at Sion pending their sale.

J-1156 is preserved outside the local air base museum. During 2005 the pointed nose was repleced by the original one.

Although the Hawk was already in service some Vampires did still fly in 1991. Probably a test flight for a would be buyer.

Stored at Sion. After withdrawl this Vampire was sold to the USA as N100VJ.

After withdrawl the Vampires were stored at Sion. In this picture about 10 different airframes can be seen. J-1200 is now preserved in Luzern.
