Sept '48 this plane made a force landing while assigned to 49th FS Dow AFB, ME. Possible plane was repaired and sent to Lackland Museum sometime before summer of '51. Between Nov '87, Oct '05, was painted as the P47D 42-26418 of Lt. Col. Francis Gabreski.

This Jug is now displayed inside the USAF Armament Museum at VPS. She is painted in the colours of 44-88129 'Expected Goose', a 463 FS/507 FG aircraft stationed at Shima Island near Okinawa. She looks good to me!!
