A head on shot of the PBY-5A in the approach to Lelystad Airport. The aircraft is actually a Canadian Vickers "Canso A", hence the construction number "CV-300". An impressive sight in a clear blue sky..!

This Catalina was originally built for the RCAF (serial 11005) as Canso A. It now represents, and honours, an OA-10A and crew of the 5th ERS, Halesworth, lost over the North Sea off the Frisian Islands in a dramatic rescue operation on 30 March 1945.
