The last opportunity to photograph the Viggen was at Lechfeld where two rare Sk 37E electronic warfare Viggens participated in the exercise Elite 2005.

A wide array of fighters was present during Co-operative Key 1998. Behind the Viggens there are three French Mirage 2000C, four Czech MiG-21, two Rumanian MiG-21 and two Bulgarian MiG-21.
Nice surprise to the 2001 Co-operative Key exercise in Bulgaria was the detachment of the Swedish Air Force with freshly painted Viggen recce aircraft.
