Over the last few years PV202 has had a number of markings applied, including those of 'W3632', a Spitfire presented to the RAF by the Persian Gulf Fighter Fund in 1941. LF.IX PV202 was with 33 Squadron coded '5R-H' from October until December 1944.
Historic Flying Ltd's trainer Spitfire is painted to represent Spitfire I X4474 as flown by 19 Squadron during the Battle of Britain. Here Sir Cliff Spink is landing on 24-grass.
This Spitfire has quite a history. Built in 1945 as a single-seat Mk.9e, converted to a two-seater in 1946 and flew with the Irish Air Corps. Appeared in the Battle of Britain movie and was re-converted to a single seater in the '70s.
