This B-24 was in markings of the 98th BG of the 9th AF in North Africa and named 'Diamond Lil'. Work began in 2006 to restore her to her original 1941 B-24A bomber configuration, paint scheme and new 'Ol' 927' nose art. 'Now Diamond Lil' is back again!
This aircraft was built against an RAF order as a Liberator Mk.1, but was damaged in Canada on delivery in 1941. Local serial number allocated was AM927. Today, "Ol 927" is owned by the Commemorative Air Force and is the oldest of all airworthy B-24's.
