Possibly last oprn'l B-24 in USAF. Re designated EZB-24M for ice testing. March '51 crashed on take off at Berlin, NH. Retired and displayed at Lackland, AFB. June '99 traded to museum @ Duxford UK. Restored to "M" and painted as 44-40593, "DUGAN"
Had a wonderful time with the Collings Foundation B-24 "Witchcraft". We had arranged a night shoot with Hunter Chaney and they pulled out all the stops. Thanks to Jason the co-pilot for the time he spent with us that night!!
National Museum of the US Air Force. The museum's Liberator flew combat missions over North Africa in 1943-1944 with the 512th Bomb Squadron. Canon EOS 40D, EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens.
This aircraft was built against an RAF order as a Liberator Mk.1, but was damaged in Canada on delivery in 1941. Local serial number allocated was AM927. Today, "Ol 927" is owned by the Commemorative Air Force and is the oldest of all airworthy B-24's.
Diamond Lil on display in Rockford, IL. This was the last year for Lil. During the Winter MX months of '06-07, work began to convert her back to her original LB-30/B-24A configuration. She also received a new paint scheme, and was renamed Ol 927.
Witchcraft was formerly named The Dragon and His Tail. It served the Royal Air Force as a Liberator B. VII before being transferred to the Indian Air Force.
Consolidated B-24J Liberator"Bungay Buckaroo". This one flew from India to Tucson for the Pima Air Museum. Its right side has Indian Airforce Markings, left side U.S. 446 Bomb Group markings.
