Wish I could have achieved better results with this scan. It was a real PITA to scan. Must have been around the time Kodak was messing with the Kodachrome chemistry.
VA-164 "Ghostriders" squadron. Named after longtime supporter of the squadron with all CO's planes taking the name. The first plane with the name "Ladie Jesse" was flown by Lcdr Dick Perry who was shot down and killed in Vietnam.
Previously operated by VMA-142, a Reserve unit out of Cecil Field FL, this 'Fox' model Skyhawk was retired to AMARC in March 1988 and according to some sources has since been scrapped.
